BALLETEATRO CONTEMPORÂNEO DO PORTO, CRL
Ever since its foundation, Balleteatro has been a hub for the development of the performing arts. Established in 1983, it played an important role in the development of an artistic community for contemporary performing arts in Porto. It possesses an important repertoire of choreographic creations by resident artists Isabel Barros and Né Barros; through a number of collaborations with other artists, these creations combine a variety of languages, like the visual arts, photography, music, film and puppetry. Besides its creative work, Balleteatro pioneered the democratisation of the arts via its training courses. In 1989, it opened the first Professional School for dance and theatre in Portugal. Since 2015, the company resides in the iconic Coliseu do Porto Ageas.
